Biography

Being a Child

Michael Counihan, who was born in the suburbs of New York, was a very busy child growing up. He began playing a variety of sports as he grew up, including baseball, tennis, football, and swimming.

It was Mike’s favorite activity. He would look for more challenging sports as the years passed.

At the age of 14, shortly after finishing elementary school, Michael became interested in weightlifting and the gym. As he described, he gradually began to experiment and “play around” with weights.

College

Michael had a couple of years’ worth of weightlifting expertise by the time he started college.

The American, who played middle linebacker for Pace University, admitted that he still didn’t take bodybuilding seriously at the time. He was more concerned with education and his football career.

Due to tragic events, Mike was unable to continue playing professional football after a few months of college because of an injury he had during a football game.

Getting into the Fitness Industry

Mike’s enthusiasm for the game grew stronger over time. He later received a criminal justice degree from Pace University in New York. Mike decided to attempt and pursue his newly discovered interest of being a personal trainer after graduating.
