Biography
Change of Career
In her youth, Mirella was always interested in fitness. Her main interests included judo, cycling, swimming, and gymnastics. She did not always stay active and fit, though.
She spent some time working in the tourism sector. The positions that Mirella played ranged from PA to Business Executive. But Mirella’s passion for fitness kept luring her back to the gym, and something was always eating away at her.
Mirella relocated to London, made the big decision to alter her career, and began preparing for WBFF events while studying to become a certified coach.
After relocating to London, Mirella claims, she came to understand her true calling and made the decision to enter the fitness sector.
Putting The WBFF First
Marilla concentrated on the WBFF taking place in Denmark. When Mirella competed in the WBFF European Championships in April 2013, she took first place in the short category, earning herself a professional card.
Individual Trainer
Mirella currently works as a coach for other athletes hoping to follow in her footsteps after being addicted to weightlifting and earning her first professional card.
Training
She acknowledges that she was a “cardio bunny” in her early years. Having gone through a phase of focusing mostly on exercise, Mirella now employs HIIT to maintain her lean body.
The Top 3 Exercises for Mirella
- Split squats – “A great exercise for working your legs and glutes.”
- Hip bridge – “Targets your hamstrings and glutes…what girl doesn’t want a nice rounded booty.”
- Chin-ups – “There is something about these that just make me feel strong. Not only do they work your upper body but target your core too. Everyone should learn to do chins.”
Nutrition
Depending on her workout routine, Mirella will cycle her carb intake. She will also consume 5 to 6 meals daily, with steak, almonds, and berries in the morning.
She frequently eats carbs after working out to prevent excessive fat buildup. Her principal sources of energy are carbohydrates, such as sweet potatoes, quinoa, or rice cakes.
Lean steak, chicken, and fish will make up her protein intake, along with healthy fats and a lot of vegetables. Dark chocolate or a protein drink made with coconut oil, banana, lucuma powder, coconut water, and a tiny bit of honey are her weaknesses.
Influences and Idols
Mirella claims that she is internally motivated. “I’m incredibly self-driven. If I establish a goal for myself, I’ll persevere until I reach it, says Mirella.
If I don’t, I’ll find another way, she continues. For me, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a choice, not a “fad.” My drive to continue is my active lifestyle.
Andrea Brazier, Jen Jewell, Rachel Guy, Stephen Box, my WBFF Diva Sisters Juliana Conci-Mitchell and Susie Woffenden, Gordon Greenhorn, Shaun Stafford, Luke Haslett, and Andrea Smith are some of the people she looks up to and draws inspiration from. (Mirella Clark)
