The best way to prepare top dogs is with hot dog chili! With ground beef, tomato sauce, and seasonings, this recipe makes a flavorful beanless chili in about 15 minutes.
It works as a universal dipping sauce for hamburgers, brats, and hot dogs. Even omelets and grilled cheese sandwiches could use it! (Hot Dog Chili)
What is Hot Dog Chili sauce?
From Louisiana to Texas, this Southern sauce is a mainstay in eateries, drive-ins, and homes. Once you experience it, you’ll want to keep some on hand in your refrigerator for any occasion.
It is the universal dipping sauce that takes the place of ketchup, mustard, relish, and onions! Fresh, zesty, and completely adaptable condiment that only requires one step to complete!
This recipe for ground beef chili omits the beans, unlike a standard chili dish. You may create your delicious sauce with fresh meat, tomato sauce, and seasonings. Make it whichever you like—hot or sweet!

Additional Flavorful Chili Dog Toppings
Hot dogs make the ideal grab-and-go food for everything! Listed here are some of my favorites!
- Diced or fried onions, sundried tomatoes, jalapenos, or pepperoncini are examples of vegetables.
- Cheese: Shredded cheddar, mozzarella, or hot habanero cheese!
- Sauces: salsa, sour cream, pickle relish, or hot sauce.
- Additional: bacon bits, black beans, or black olives.
How much time will it last?
When you consider all the wonderful uses for hot dog chili sauce, you won’t have any leftover. Until then, place in the refrigerator in a glass jar with a tight-fitting cover or Tupperware.
If you have a surplus, you can freeze it for a few months even though it only keeps for about 3–4 days.
