Biography

Developing Internal Strength

Ryan Terry began attending the gym for the first time at the age of 14 to boost his confidence, just like so many of us. Ryan was beginning to make improvements after years of diligent labor.

When he decided to participate in his first bodybuilding competition, things began to take off. Ryan thought that this was the best course of action even though he was part-time modeling and working as a plumber at the time.

“I started training for fitness and to gain in confidence.  Also, I kept getting aggressive, set new goals and that’s how I started competing. I actually started as a model and moved on to bodybuilding.”

When Ryan, at 21 years old, won the Mr. Great Britain competition in 2010, things quickly began to change.

He decided to once again represent Great Britain in the Mr. International competition in Indonesia because his conditioning was at its finest. In addition to winning the Best Body Award, Ryan triumphed over rivals from more than 40 other countries.

Increase the Gear

The UK plumber turned fitness model was immediately swamped with phone calls as he was pursued by top nutrition and fitness firms. At this point, Ryan realized he needed to take things a step further and devote all of his time to competitive bodybuilding.

At the UK Nationals in April 2013, he won first place and was named the UKBFF National Champion.

Ryan won the title of European Men’s Physique Champion in the same year. Ryan doesn’t want to stop there; he also wants to compete in the Pro Leagues for Great Britain, vie for the Mr. Olympia crown, and compete in America.

“Mr International was about staying in shape rather than about the size. Switching from a beauty pageant to bodybuilding needs one to concentrate more on food and nutrition and weight training.

I had to focus on aesthetically building each muscle part.”

Training

When beginning an exercise program, Ryan advises always seeing a personal trainer to learn the fundamentals. “Be open and don’t dodge anything.

Ryan advises “go slowly rather than injure.” In addition, he advises that if you can’t afford a physical therapist, you can always watch a ton of wonderful videos online for tips on how to lift weights and exercise. “Select the resistance device.

A figure with broad shoulders and more taper at the waist is always stressed.
