Diet coke with champagne! This is outside-the-box idea of famous American actor, Tom Hanks. He has invented this unique fizzy cocktail drink that is Diet Cokagne. Tom spoke about this on the TV show, The Late Show this week.

The legendary American actor and film maker, Tom Hanks has invented a unique fizzy cocktail drink accidentally. He spoke about it on the popular TV show, The Late Show this week. It is an out of the box thinking. Tom revealed to the host of the show, Stephen Colbert that he created the cocktail by fluke during a moment of celebration during the last holidays. He calls it the Diet Cokagne.

“I’m not a big drinker. I don’t drink so I usually have a Diet Coke,”
This time during the party, champagne was brought in and Tom said:
“I said, ‘Oh, give me a shot of champagne in there for crying out loud,'”
“I said ‘Well, I may be insane but I want to help — I want to celebrate the season.’ So I had a sip of this.”
More revelation of Tom
Tom went on to reveal that he had finished one third of the diet coke he had in his hand. And later, he added the shot of champagne to the leftover coke. Tom told Stephen that the result was delicious. And the name for this new drink also came up intuitively for him: The Diet Cokagne. Tom said:
“We were debating what the name of it should be and I came up with it because it is coke and champagne,”
Stephen’s suggestion was to rename it as Tom Hanks. And Tom could not disagree. He was okay with the renaming as well. It was similar to the Tom Collins cocktail drink. After the revelation about the origin of his new two-ingredients drink, Stephen and Tom had a taste of it on the show.

Actually, mixing a flavory liquid including the sugary juices to a bubbly fluid like a champagne is an old practice. Thus includes cocktails like the Aperol Spritz (which has Aperol, club soda, and Prosecco) or the French 75 (which contains gin, Champagne, lemon juice) or the mimosa (which has orange juice mixed with Champagne), the Bellini (in which peach juice is added to Prosecco). All of these combine flavored liqueurs or juices with the bubbly champagne or such drinks.

Another cocktail close to that of Tom Hanks’ is the Kalimotxo. It is a cocktail that has red wine with Coke. And there is also another in which there is the mixing of rum and coke together.
Tom Hanks’ new drink has gone viral. TikTok users posted videos of them making and drinking this new cocktail. It has got some positive response on social media. Cassidy Michelle has uploaded a video of her sipping on the Diet Cokagne. She captioned it:
“just order it and try 😂 its GOOD!”

The reaction was not spectacular but the video had 644000 views in a day. The TikTok user @thesinglesomm also posted a video of them sipping the new cocktail and wrote:
“That kinda works, I am not mad about it, I am not mad about this at all,”
