Moon Milk

This moon milk is just divine! There’s a traditional moon milk, a sour cherry variety, and a honey lavender variation to help you go off to sleep. Your brand-new night routine!

Why Is This Drink So Delicious?

  • With undertones of toasty vanilla, tangy cherry, or fragrant lavender, our dairy-free moon milk is sweet and dreamy.
  • This moon milk contains ashwagandha, which is great for stress relief. You can, however, completely disregard it and yet get many of the wonderful benefits.

How Do You Make It?

Moon Milk Almond
Food: Moon Milk (40 Aprons)
  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, mix together all of the ingredients until well combined. Allow to heat for 5 minutes, or until warm.
  2. Milk should be strained. Before serving in a mug, whisk everything again to ensure sure the spices are well blended.

What flavor should I prepare?

Traditional: This version is creamy and gentle, like a nice glass of vanilla milk before bedtime.

Cherry: Our cherry variant is tart and delicious, like a rich cherry pie in a glass.

Lavender: The lavender variant has a flowery, warm flavor, similar to a bedtime London Fog. If you enjoy the aroma of lavender as you go off to sleep, this is the candle for you.

Moon Milk: What Is It and How Does It Work?

  • For millennia, moon milk has been used to improve sleep in Ayurvedic medicine, a 5,000-year-old holistic approach originating in India.
  • When ashwagandha is included in your daily diet, it helps your body relax by secreting anti-stress chemicals.
  • Astragalus fights inflammation, which is linked to sleeplessness. Astragalus may even aid with sleep apnea, according to preliminary research.
  • Tart cherries, almond milk, soy milk, and some other non-dairy milk all contain tryptophan, an amino acid that can help with sleep by increasing serotonin and melatonin levels.
  • When consumed or utilized as aromatherapy, lavender can aid in relaxation, anti-anxiety, and long durations of deep sleep.
  • Adding anything to your bedtime ritual, aside from the advantages of the components, helps instruct your body and brain that it’s time to sleep.

Chef’s Advice

  • The gorgeous dried flowers on top, of course, are only for Instagram. You don’t need to add these petals to your moon milk (and they kind of get in the way, anyway).
  • To measure, I used roughly 2 ashwagandha capsules, which I opened and emptied into my measuring spoon. This stress-relieving adaptogenic herb is also available in bulk, making it simple to pour into your moon milk.
  • We strongly advise that you consult your doctor before adding any herb or supplement to your diet!
