Parents of Azaylia Cain

Azaylia Cain was the daughter of reality TV personality Safiyya Vorajee and famous professional footballer Ashley Cain, who played for the Championship team Coventry City. Safiyya Vorajee and Ashley Cain have had an incredible love story as they battle through the life-threatening condition of their little daughter Azaylia.

Hospitalized

In October 2020, Cain revealed that Azaylia, who she shares with Vorajee, had been diagnosed with leukemia and that it was “a very rare and aggressive form” of the disease. The family was “urgently notified that Azaylia’s leukemia had returned,” the former professional soccer player said in February, just before she was scheduled to leave the hospital following a stem-cell transplant. Later, in late March, Cain claimed that his daughter had “heartbreakingly relapsed,” adding, “We are horrified by the news and are left with very few options.” Since then, the family has been taken back into the hospital as inpatients.

Cancer & Azaylia Cain’s Health

After Azaylia’s CT and ultrasound scans, her mother Azaylia Cain wrote, “Consultants have informed us that they have identified tumors in Azaylia’s brain, as well as in her kidneys, liver, lungs, and spleen.” Due to the tremendous pressure within her head, doctors claimed there is no way to treat the tumors on her brain. Because the illness is so severe, her chemotherapy is also no longer lowering the disease in her blood. Today, we also learned that because of the uniqueness and aggressiveness of Azaylia’s leukemia, Singapore was unable to develop a CART therapy to cure her. The disease Azaylia had was far too complicated for them to treat, so this was our last, best, and only chance to save her. To give our precious baby the greatest possible care during her short time with us, we will be leaving for home right away. My beautiful girl has been struggling for so long and doesn’t deserve to have this happen to her, therefore I’m so proud of her! There aren’t enough words to express the heartbreak and anguish I’m experiencing, yet I feel tremendously honored to be the mother of my baby. I’m at a loss for words at the moment. But for now, I want to say thank you for your love and support of Azaylia and our family.
