Who Is David Conrad?
David Conrad is an American citizen and a Leo by birth sign. He was born on August 17, 1967, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is an actor best known for appearing in the John Grady-created fantasy drama series “Ghost Whisperer,” which also starred Jennifer Love Hewitt and Camryn Manheim. The show, which aired from 2005 to 2010, follows several characters who can communicate with the dead. It had 25 nominations overall and four Primetime Emmy nominations, and it won five awards.
David Conrad hasn’t been in any movies since 2018, and while some people think he may have quit acting, others say he’s just taking a break from his career.
Childhood And Education
David and his two older brothers were nurtured in Pittsburgh by their engineer father James Watson Conrad and librarian mother Margaret Clement Conrad.
After a year at Swissvale High School, where he initially developed an interest in acting, David transferred to The Kiski School after receiving a scholarship.
He had a passion for playing football, acting in school productions, and picking up the guitar. After graduating in 1985, David enrolled at Brown University to study history, but he left school before finishing. Instead, he worked a variety of jobs to support himself while working his way up in the film industry, including those as a carpenter, house painter, and barista. To act in the Gothic fantasy horror film “Snow White: A Tale of Terror,” he saved some money and enrolled in the famous Juilliard School in New York. However, he left during his last year of study.
Movies’ Parts
In the 1993 independent horror film “Darkness: The Vampire Version,” written and directed by Leif Jonker and starring Gary Miller, Michael Gisick, and Randall Aviks, David made his acting debut as a vampire. The story follows a man who travels to battle the undead after his small city is attacked by vampires.
David first earned notoriety in the drama “Under Heat” in 1996 as Simon, and then in the suspense thriller “Return to Paradise” in 1998 as Tony Croft, a supporting role.
He played Lyle in the 1999 film “The Weekend,” which received mixed reviews. The drama film “Men of Honor,” starring Robert De Niro and based on the historical story of Master Chief Petty Officer Carl Brashear, the first African American to become a master diver in the US Navy, was called to play Captain Hanks the following year.
In the romantic comedy “Anything Else,” directed by Woody Allen and starring Danny DeVito, Jimmy Fallon, and Stockard Channing, David made an appearance. Some of his subsequent roles included those in the 2005 comedies “Wedding Crashers” and “Dumpster,” as well as the independent biographical musical “Crazy.”
In 2009, “Follow the Prophet,” the drama “About Sunny,” and the documentary “Undaunted: The Forgotten Giants of the Allegheny Observatory,” which he narrated in 2012, were three of David’s most recent film performances.
David turned down invites to audition for “Boogie Nights” and “Deep Impact” because he preferred to perform on stage. David has appeared in several plays since beginning his acting career and prefers them to movies and TV shows.
Television Show Roles
In the 1996 romantic comedy “Relativity,” which also starred Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Jane Adams and was about two Americans who meet in Italy and fall in love, David made his debut on television as Leo Roth, the series’ main character.
David starred in the pilot episode of the science fiction series “The Time Tunnel” in 2002, but the show was not picked up by a network. He also appeared in the pilot episode of the crime series “L. A. Confidential” in 2003, but that show was not picked up by a network either. In 2000, David played the supporting role of Daniel Pierce in five episodes of the science fiction series “Roswell.”
Following his performance in another supporting part in the drama “Boston Public,” David received an offer to play the title role of Michael Mendelson in the Darren Star and Jeff Rake-produced comedy “Miss Match.” He had a cameo appearance in the medical drama “House” episode “DNR” in 2005, and after that, he made appearances in a few single episodes of different series, including “CSI: Miami” in 2010, “The Good Wife” in 2011, and the Canadian-American hour-long legal thriller “The Firm” in 2012.
The crime drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” episode “Internal Affairs,” the unproduced TV pilot for “The Curse of the Fuentes Women,” and the criminal comedy series “Castle” episode “At Close Range” are three of his most recent TV appearances.
Is He Wedded?
The popular actor now looks to be unmarried, has never been married, and has never given birth to any children, despite internet rumors suggesting that he may have wed in the middle of the 2010s.
After meeting at a party hosted by a mutual friend in 2006, he began dating American actress Amanda Tosch. To this day, Amanda is probably best recognized for her appearances in “Guess Who,” “Get Smart’s Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control,” and “Prison Break.” Before breaking up for unspecified reasons after dating for almost a year, David started dating Storm Large, an American singer, author, and actor who is arguably best recognized today for having participated in the reality TV competition “Rock Star: Supernova.” Before parting up, again for unclear reasons, the two were together for several months.

He loves animals, but he doesn’t have a pet because he travels frequently and wouldn’t want to have to lug around a dog or cat.
