In 1979, at the age of 16, Johnny began his career as a rock musician. He moved to Los Angeles with his band when he was 20. After the band split up, Depp’s ex-wife Lori Ann Allison introduced him to actor Nicolas Cage. After becoming drinking buddies, Cage urged him to pursue an acting career.
