Biography of Andre Smith
From participating in sports to joining the army
Andre Smith, a native American, grew up mostly participating in competitive sports. I spent the majority of my life as a student-athlete who loved to compete, in Andre’s own words.
But after graduating from high school, Andre gave up playing sports to join the Army.
Andre visited many countries while serving, including those in Europe, Asia, and Africa. He participated as a Military Policeman in three distinct Military Operations during the procedure.
Andre experienced numerous difficulties throughout this process, one of which was being far from his family. However, as a reward for his outstanding service, he received a Bronze Star on his most recent tour.
Competitor in men’s physique
Andre decided to enter the bodybuilding industry after realizing his competitive nature was still very much alive upon his return home.
He began working out every day since he was interested in how he would compare to other bodybuilding competitions.
After nearly a year of “hardcore” exercise and dieting, Andre developed a muscular figure.
Soon after, in the spring of 2014, he made his bodybuilding stage debut and, shockingly, won the competition.
Card Pro
However, Andre’s spectacular stage run didn’t end with his victory in his first competition. He competed in five amateur shows over the following two years, winning four of them.
Additionally, the 2015 NPC National Championships was one of the competitions that Andre won. He received his arduously earned Pro Card in this location.
Professional competition
Andre competed in his first IFBB professional event, the 2016 IFBB Karina Nascimento Pro, not long after going professional. He placed fifth overall.
By 2017, Andre had competed in three additional IFBB Pro competitions, placing fifth, seventh, and tenth in the 2016 Grand Prix, 2016 Europa Orlando Pro, and 2016 Eastern Seaboard Pro, respectively.
Training of Andre Smith
Keeping It Simple
Andre, who follows a typical 6-day workout schedule, claims that not much about his training set him apart from other physique competitions.
He stands out from his competitors on stage thanks to his dedication, discipline, and work ethic in his pursuit of bodybuilding.
Andre works out for anywhere between 60 and 90 minutes total, plus an additional 15 to 30 minutes of cardio every other day. He works out vigorously and in a large volume while taking as much time as necessary to recover between sets.
Superior Volume Training
Andre is an IFBB Pro and an extremely skilled athlete, therefore he is familiar with the weight room and knows how to maximize the growth of the body.
Andre may alter his exercise regimen if he discovers that his muscle growth is slow. He will specifically mention OVT or Optimized Volume Training.
This calls for dividing the movements into two sets of 10 reps each, each set targeting a different muscle group. It resembles a super-set because of this.
These techniques are used by bodybuilders like Andre because they put a lot of stress on his muscles, causing them to expand.
Cardio
Regarding cardio, Andre enjoys HIIT. High-Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT, is the abbreviation for short bursts of very intense physical activity like sprints.
Even though Andre enjoys weightlifting, including cardio in his program promotes fat burning and helps him prepare for a show more quickly.
Chest and Biceps Workout
- A couple of sets of shoulder warm-up exercises (stretching with elastic bands, shoulder rotation with light-weight dumbbells, etc.)
- Incline Dumbbell Press, 4 sets of 12 reps
- Bench Press, 3 sets of 8-12 reps
- Incline Dumbbell Flys, 3 sets of 8-12 reps
- Dips, 3 sets of 8-12 reps
- Cable Crossovers, 3 sets of 12 reps, last set drop set
- EZ-Bar Biceps Curls, 3 sets of 8-12 reps
- Concentration Curls, 3 sets of 10-12 reps
- Hammer Curls, 3 sets of 8-12 reps
- Cable Curls, 3 sets of 12 reps
Nutrition
Adaptable Diet
Andre Smith enjoys switching up his diet frequently, either by eating extremely cleanly and healthily or by using an IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) strategy. Everything depends on the stage Andre is in and his fitness objectives.
For instance, Andre will only consume lean foods and plenty of water in the weeks leading up to a competition to reduce body fat and keep as much lean muscle as possible.
Andre will allow himself greater latitude to incorporate cheat meals and the occasional drink if he doesn’t have any upcoming events.
Meal Plan
Although Andre’s precise daily menu is unknown, bodybuilders like him frequently consume the following foods:
- Chicken
- Fish
- Beef
- Potatoes
- Rice
- Vegetables
- Walnuts
If Andre needs more whey protein to get his recommended daily intake, he may add a shake with it to his diet.
Influences and Idols
Early influences on Andre come from his time spent in the American Army. When he returned home from his military operations, the focus changed to bodybuilding. Andre’s enthusiasm and determination propelled him into the world of professional bodybuilding.
What can we infer about Andre Smith?
Andre Smith spent his youth achieving greatness in a variety of sports. He decided to join the U.S. Army after high school to change the course of his life.
When he returned, he discovered he couldn’t live without fitness and a competitive lifestyle, so he began a career as a Men’s Physique athlete. Andre entered the IFBB’s top division even though the process wasn’t simple.
Looking back at Andre’s experience, it is obvious that the path to success is anything but easy. It has several ups and downs, as well as detours from the main objective.
