The best dip for pretty much anything is this recipe for blue cheese dressing. In this creamy dressing base, the strong flavor of blue cheese is mild and delectable.

Just include some cauliflower or buffalo wings! Alternately, serve with Crockpot Hot Wings!

The Ideal dressing for Every Occasion!

The flavor of blue cheese dressing is my favorite.

I always get a wedge salad when we go out to dine since I adore the blue cheese dressing so much.

  • Like ranch dressing, it’s simple to prepare at home and tastes SO MUCH BETTER than store-bought.
  • This dressing has the acidic flavor of blue cheese but softens it just a little.
  • Make a blue cheese dip with reduced milk and serve it with buffalo wings or buffalo chicken dip.

This dressing’s base is made up of mayonnaise and sour cream, and a little fresh lemon juice brightens it up.

Garlic powder is used in this dish to add a mild taste (as fresh garlic can overpower the other flavors).

Use any blue cheese, including Roquefort, Gorgonzola, stilton, and blue cheese crumbles.

Blue Cheese Dressing Recipe

Making homemade blue cheese involves:

  1. Blend the mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, and half the blue cheese until smooth.
  2. Add the rest of the blue cheese (crumble it well so you have little chunks of blue cheese).
  3. Once you’ve reached the ideal consistency for your dressing, add milk one tablespoon at a time. For a blue cheese dip, I like to keep the consistency a little thicker, and for a salad dressing, a little thinner.

This recipe makes a silky, tasty dressing by blending the ingredients in a blender or food processor. A hand blender can do the trick if you don’t have one; I use mine for everything from smoothies to broccoli cheese soup (you can buy one for under $30 at any supermarket or online).

After blending, I add milk to thin out the mixture to the proper consistency. It might thicken up considerably depending on the brand of cheese! Additionally, I added buttermilk to this recipe, and the results were fantastic!

Keto/Low Carb

What About Blue Cheese Dressing? Of course! Low in carbohydrates, blue cheese dressing is ideal for the ketogenic diet.

On game day, you don’t have to give up those smokin’ hot wings because a tablespoon just has one gram of carbohydrates. It goes great with celery or over iceberg lettuce!

What is the shelf life of homemade blue cheese dressing?

If you make your blue cheese dressing, it can keep for up to 7 days in the refrigerator (make sure your sour cream is fresh). For delicious options during the week, I enjoy whipping up fresh dressings on the weekend.

A mason jar works just as well as the spouted salad dressing container that I use to store my homemade dressing for easy pouring.

Simply rinse up any leftover dressing jars from the shop and utilize them! To determine when the dressing is past due, don’t forget to label it with the best before date or the day you made it.
