Biography
Crossfit and Basketball Both
One of the best and youngest CrossFit athletes the sport has ever seen is Lauren Fisher, a.k.a. Lil Fish. Millions of people all around the world were fascinated by her ability to clean and jerk massive amounts of weight over her little but muscular frame.
She competed for her nation in the junior weightlifting division at the 2014 Olympics in addition to being a professional CrossFit athlete.
While attending St. Mary’s High School in California, Lil Fish won back-to-back state basketball championships and played on the school’s fabled National Championship squad.
It all began when she was a freshman basketball player at St. Mary’s in Stockton, California when she was 14 years old. She began CrossFit at this time, and she got off to a fast start when her team won two state titles and a national championship.
Lauren, a senior at the age of 18, quickly earned a spot in the CrossFit Northern California Regionals, where she placed 12th overall despite her young age in comparison to other senior athletes.
Junior Olympic Champion
When she was only 22 years old, Lauren Fisher had already made a name for herself as one of the most well-known and promising CrossFit athletes in the nation.
In addition to placing ninth overall at the 2014 Reebok CrossFit Games, she also led Team USA to victory in the Women’s 63kg weight class of the USA Weightlifting Junior National Championship.
Lauren participated in the CrossFit Games as a member of the SoCal Team, Invictus, in 2013 and 2015 as well as in 2016, where she won the California Regionals.
Lil Fish has always been motivated by the other female CrossFitters; it was their size, power, and sense of camaraderie that convinced her to give up playing basketball at San Diego University in favor of a full-time commitment to CrossFit.
She works out twice a day, once in the early morning and once in the late evening. Although the life of a CrossFit competitor is demanding and difficult, Lauren enjoys what she does.
Incredible Work Rate
When a former college roommate questioned Lauren about why she trained so hard, Lauren responded as follows:
“My sorority roommate doesn’t comprehend how I only train, eat, and sleep. But she replied, “I finally understand your commitment,” when she saw me on ESPN during the CrossFit Games.
Lauren continues to be inspired by the accomplishments of today’s top women because she is dedicated and driven. She keeps up the good work in the hopes of one day winning the CrossFit championship.
“I have the opportunity to train with those girls and I see up close how good they are – competing against them pushes you to a whole other level.”
Crossfit enthusiast
the force behind it is Lauren Fisher has a strong desire to achieve win-win outcomes. This young athlete has advanced to the top of her field by giving up her free time to practice for 4-6 hours every day.
Her relentless work ethic will propel her to the top rank in many upcoming CrossFit competitions.
Fisher is a remarkable young woman who has the desire and motivation to outperform her competitors through grit and hard work alone, according to Invictus coach CJ Martin, who trains Fisher.
Martin discusses his experience seeing Lil Fish compete in the 2012 North Carolina Regionals in the video below;
“I witnessed Lauren compete at the 2012 NorCal Regionals; the exercise included a row, pistols, and extremely difficult hang cleans.
She had three reps left to do, and she had around ten seconds left. Before the cap, she ran to her barbell, performed her cleans, and then crossed the finish line. That informed me that the girl would put up a strong fight and compete.
Training
Lauren works out twice daily. Her early-morning workout will include accessory training and heavy-weight jerk technique drills.
Fisher will mostly execute the front squat, jerk, and clean. jerk press, drop snatch, and push press. For her jerk drills, she’ll typically utilize 115 kilograms (253 lbs).
To keep her body healthy and prepared to handle the additional stress of weightlifting, Lil Fish will also complete a full gymnastics routine.

- 1.5 Mile Swim – followed by a run of 4.6 miles
Nutrition
Although Lauren will mostly follow a paleo diet, she may occasionally include carbohydrates. She consumes her carbs post-workout to maximize insulin sensitivity and prevent any carb spillover into fat storage.
She eats when she can and what she can without counting calories. When exercising for 4-6 hours per day as a CrossFit athlete, it’s critical to maintain a high-calorie intake.
After exercising, she will eat a diet high in lean proteins, good fats, and complex carbohydrates. She won’t hold back, though, if she feels like eating a pizza.
Influences and Idols
Lauren is pleased that she has encouraged other young girls to have active lives filled with weightlifting, good nutrition, and eating more.
She claims that hearing little girls call her name is an honor. Young girls had also said, “I want to do weights and be like Fisher,” she recalled.
She has also been motivated by other outstanding female CrossFit competitors. Lauren Fisher has been motivated to compete in the CrossFit championship by the tough and demanding sports female competitors.
She keeps working every day to reach this objective in the hopes of getting closer to it every year.
How Can Lauren Fisher Teach Us Something?
Youthful Lauren has always been active in sports, including football, basketball, and her major sport, CrossFit. She adores both the team-training environment and the sport itself.
Other female professional athletes, as well as their passion and objectives, serve as her inspiration. This is what drew Lil Fish to the CrossFit community in the first place.
She is now concentrating on competing and, ideally, taking home CrossFit titles as well as more Olympic gold for her nation in the future.
She never skips a training session and puts forth a lot of effort to demonstrate her talent and love for the game. You too can succeed if you have the same goal and drive to advance.
