For a quick boost or on hectic mornings, try one of these three immunity-boosting ginger shot recipes. Learn how to make green apple, carrot, and lemon ginger shots.

We’ve had a variety of drinks previously, but we hadn’t tried a ginger power shot until we arrived in California after a long journey that left us exhausted and with headaches.

It rapidly lifted our spirits, gave us a great feeling, and helped us get ready for the day. Since then, we’ve developed a morning routine that includes a short ginger injection.

The recipe we make for ginger power shot the most frequently just calls for two ingredients: ginger and lemon. Although the lemon only barely mitigates the ginger’s moderate heat, everything may be consumed without much effort.

Ginger has calming properties and benefits for the digestive system. Lemon helps to increase your mood and is wonderful for the immune system.

We’ve experimented since we started creating ginger shots frequently. Adding something sweet, like carrots or apples, really helps to mellow out the strong, spicy flavor of the ginger.

Greens are another trick; they make ginger more manageable.

It doesn’t make much sense to get out the juicer every morning when we’re talking about preparing shot-sized juices. Instead, we’ve developed the custom of juicing a sizable piece of ginger, storing it in the refrigerator, and then using it over a few days.

Carrots, apples, and spinach can all be prepared similarly. (After more than three days, the juice’s nutritional content could start to deteriorate.)

It is a slow cold-pressed juicer that we use. We are overjoyed with it. You can read all about it here if you want to see it for yourself.

How to make a fresh Ginger Power Shot?

We’ve provided three ginger-based juice combinations in the recipe below:

  • Lemon and ginger
  • Carrot, Lemon, and Ginger
  • Green Apple, Spinach, and Ginger

Although we use and adore our Omega juicer, you can also produce ginger shots using a powerful blender if necessary. Since ginger is so cheap, some loss is acceptable since a juicer extracts significantly more juice from it.

Blend some ginger that has been roughly chopped with a few tablespoons of water or lemon juice to make ginger juice.

You’ll probably need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender a few times while you blend until the ginger is broken down. Then just add fresh lemon juice to the ginger juice after passing it through a fine mesh strainer.

Use a blender and the same care with carrot and apple as you would with ginger for the other juices. Greens don’t blend well, so I’d stick to using a high-quality juicer instead.

These injections are fantastic for your body. Lemon is a potent immune booster, while ginger is great for your digestive system.

Typically, 1 teaspoon of ginger juice should be used for each shot. It will be challenging to drink more than that. Before juicing ginger, we don’t peel it.

To eliminate any dirt, just scrape and rinse the ginger root before putting it through your juicer. It doesn’t make much sense to get out the juicer every morning when we’re talking about preparing shot-sized juices.

PREPARE INGREDIENTS

  1. Prepare everything by chopping it into thin, manageable bits for the juicer.
  2. Remove the lemon’s yellow peel, preserving the majority of the white pith and lemon meat. Remove any seeds before cutting them into pieces.

MAKE SHOTS

  1. Switching between the softer lemon, apple, or spinach and the harder items in the juicer, turn it on and push everything through (if using).
  2. Drink the shot after dividing the juice between small glasses. Do this as soon as possible because the ginger will be hot (but well worth it).

TIPS

  • Making ginger drinks with a blender: Blend everything in a powerful blender until it is completely smooth. The juice can then be extracted from the pulp by pressing it through a strainer with a fine screen. This comes close, however, a juicer will produce far better juice and will result in less liquid waste. Greens don’t combine well, so use a quality juicer instead.
  • Make-ahead: Although it can be prepared a day or two in advance, fresh juice is the finest when consumed immediately after juicing. Keep in sealed glass containers. It should last a little bit longer if you have used a cold-pressed juicer.
