Who Is Alex Anderson?

From Knoxville, Tennessee, Alex Anderson is a three-time CrossFit Games competitor. Since his first appearance at the Central East Regionals in 2012, he has been participating in CrossFit competitions.

Alex switched to the individual CrossFit competitions in 2014 after his final team appearance in the Central East Regionals in 2013. He competed for the first time at the 2014 Games, placing an impressive 13th.

Alex improved his performance by two positions by competing for his way to 11th place at the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games two years later.

Alex, one of three brothers who have competed at the elite CrossFit Games, is a member of a CrossFit family. Along with his father, who triumphed in the 2011 Masters Men’s Division.

Biography

Short Career of Alex AndersonAlex Anderson

Alex Anderson is a sports enthusiast who was born and raised in Dunwoody, Georgia. They don’t do it anymore, but I grew up playing everything, as he mentioned.

Alex’s favorite sports to play were football, baseball, and wrestling. But after graduating from high school, he decided to stick to playing football.

Throughout college, he kept up his participation in the sport, eventually rising to the position of team captain in 2011.

Alex quit participating in team sports after receiving his undergraduate degree in 2012 and began concentrating on his job. Before switching to roles in Pilot logistics, he spent some time working for a gardening business.

But Alex’s ‘itch’ for the competition from his high school and college years was still very much there. This continued to bother Alex more and more over the months.

Alex realized it was time to make a significant change in his life after learning about CrossFit. In 2012, he made the brave decision to quit his desk job and pursue CrossFit full-time.

Developing A Lucrative CareerAlex Anderson

Although Alex’s choice initially made him nervous, it ultimately paid off. After only a year of training, Alex qualified for the CrossFit Games.

Additionally, his family, who were all accomplished athletes like Alex, gave him their unwavering support. His father, Steve Anderson, won the Men’s Masters Division (55-59) in 2011 as a senior CrossFit participant.

His two brothers had both competed in the Olympics, with one finishing in the top ten in 2012 and the other in the bottom thirty in 2016.

With three appearances in the Games and several other CrossFit-related accolades, Alex is currently the most decorated member of his family’s CrossFit team.

Training

Alex’s Training Method

The professional CrossFit competitor Alex works out several times a day. His exercise program includes gymnastics, stretching, physical conditioning, endurance training, and weight training.

When Alex isn’t working out in the gym two to three times each day, he usually spends time in the great outdoors. Hunting, fishing, mountain and hill hiking, and taking pleasure in the little things are some of his favorite pastimes.

Alex will mentally picture every objective as he trains for the Games, the biggest CrossFit event. This enables him to take the actions required to realize these objectives.

When it comes to significant workouts, like those in the Open, he says, “I instantly start visualizing myself accomplishing it when the workout is announced.

I mentally perform the motions. I picture the pace and intensity I want to use. Of course, I picture myself succeeding.

Alex doesn’t make any significant dietary modifications when preparing for competitions. He constantly consumes wholesome foods all through the year, which makes it simpler for him to train for contests.

Influences And Idols

Family is Alex’s primary source of motivation in both CrossFit and life. In 2012, he was motivated to take a chance and plunge into the world of CrossFit by his father, Steve Anderson.

What Alex Anderson Can Teach Us?

One important thing we can take away from Alex Anderson is that sometimes you have to take chances in life to accomplish your goals.

This required Alex Anderson to quit his corporate job and pursue a career in CrossFit.

Although it was a hazardous choice, it proved profitable. Now that he has dedicated himself to the practice of CrossFit, Alex is living the life of his dreams.

The lesson from Alex’s experience is that you can always make a “leap of faith” in the direction of something that might be significantly better if you’re not pleased with the way things are right now.
