Biography

Setting Up

Don Akim, who is originally from Nigeria, has always been quite athletic. Growing up, he played a variety of sports, including football, athletics, rugby, judo, and gymnastics.

Football was his main interest for a long time. Don said he participated in competitive play and didn’t see himself playing anything else because he found it to be enjoyable.

But owing to unfortunate circumstances, the Nigerian unintentionally tore his Achilles tendon while participating in a football game, necessitating at least six months away from the field. Don was quite frustrated by having to wear a cast.

A New Finding

Don acknowledged that when he was spending time recovering from the injury, he would occasionally become so frustrated from being unable to engage in any intense activities that he would almost go “crazy.”

Akim started attending the gym to improve his performance and increase his strength after a few months of being inactive due to his constant search for novel ways to pass his time. He immediately felt relieved to be able to exercise, but that wasn’t all.

As the weeks went by, Don began to see changes in his mood and physique as a result of his training. He then understood he was addicted.

Soon after, Akim began to exercise regularly and manage his food, which led to him being even more “addicted” to the lifestyle.

The Winners

The Nigerian kept up his efforts in the gym, and he quickly expanded. Don decided to participate for the first time after putting in years of effort and dedication. Rosanna, his fiancée, also assisted him in this decision.

He was scheduled to compete in the same show as his fiancée, who was a participant in the bikini division.

Together, they began to get ready for the competition, and a few months later, the duo made their stage debut. Unexpectedly, both of them took home victories at the Miami Pro World Championship in St. Albans.

The victory solidified Akim’s passion for the game and motivated him to keep working hard at the gym.

He also started his social media accounts at the same time, where he frequently posted motivational images and quotes to assist others in changing their bodies and attitudes.

This implies that you should make time if you don’t already have it.

Finally, Don offered some basic pointers on how to get ripped:

1. Eat well (don’t drink, don’t smoke).
2. Sleep well.
3. Train hard as if your life depended on it…Repeat.

In the beginning, he largely used compound motions and workouts to build a strong mass, but as his physique improved, he began to notice which body parts were deficient and concentrated especially on strengthening those areas.

Don explained that he can maintain a healthy level of leanness throughout the year since he never wants to go on a cut for more than two to three weeks because he wants to always be prepared for a photo session.

He also acknowledged that he “hates not having abs,” which gives him still more motivation to maintain his weight throughout the year.
