Holiday season is in. People love and enjoy festivities and parties. But it can really get overwhelming arranging for it. But actor Stanley Tucci provides some easy tips to avoid going overboard. How can one arrange and yet not get overwhelmed with the preparations?
Stanley Tucci and his advice
Host of the show on CNN, Searching for Italy, Stanley Tucci enjoys hosting parties. And now with the Christmas holiday season arriving, this activity is bound to increase. There is a lot to be done at year end for the various parties and get togethers you want to give to your close friends and relatives.
You have to finalize on the food menu, decorations, venue arrangements, dates, guest lists, etc. Some people like Stanley tend to go overboard with it.
And this could be exhausting and overwhelming. How to keep everything under control without stressing? There are some simple tricks for it. Stanley says:
“Limiting the number of dishes that you’re going to make for a given soiree is a must.”
He adds:
“You want everybody to be satisfied,”
“It just comes from the way I grew up, when there were so many dishes. There was never just a soup and a salad, that never happened, especially around the holidays. The meals just went on forever. So I think if you can do that—have a nice range of dishes, but not too many—it makes it more satisfying for you as a host, but actually easier for your guests, too.”
More about Stanley and his wife
Stanley is a great and talented actor. He has starred in films such as Big Night and Julie & Julia. He has several cook books to his credit. And in 2021, he came out with his memoir: Taste: My Life Through Food. Moreover, besides his show on CNN, Stanley also has an Instagram account. On this, he posts his recipes and provides cocktail tutorials as well.
Luckily, he has a great partner in his wife. About her, he said:
“My wife’s much better at [limiting dishes] than I am, and then I’ll have a tendency to go, ‘But I think we should also make—’ and she goes, ‘No, we’re not making that,'”
Stanley resides in England. He says at the parties at his house, he always has main dishes that are traditional of the UK, the USA, and Italy. He said:
“Well, I do love that, in England … they always do turkey for Christmas, but we never did turkey, really, because we had just had Thanksgiving,”
“They don’t have Thanksgiving, so they want the turkey. I don’t want a turkey. I want a leg of lamb or a ham, like a glazed ham. And I do like to have, obviously, some Italian component, which is usually like a lasagna or a timpano, which is what my family made all the time.”
Stanley’s pasta recipe
Stanley has a great pasta recipe for your this year’s party. He has teamed up with San Pellegrino and World Chef, a meal-kit service for a lovely and delicious dinner recipe. It can make his favorite Gnocchetti Sardi con Salsiccia e Broccolini and serve 4 to 6 people. Talking of it, he said:
“This recipe, to me, is the perfect way to make it … but you can make it a little spicier if you want, make it not spicy if you want. It’s a really, really simple, straightforward recipe that everybody loves.”

This dish is spicy thanks to the 1 tablespoon of Calabrian chili in it. One can dilute it with fennel or water or by lessening the amount of chili flakes you use. But it has anti-inflammatory properties and is good for the body.
