Since September 2, 1990, Annie Potts has been wed to James Hayman, her fourth spouse. Hayman lives in New Orleans due to his position as executive producer of NCIS: New Orleans.
The two have been living apart for a while due to Potts’s need to move around for her acting work. Nevertheless, Annie Potts claims that whether they live together or apart, their relationship is successful because they get along well.
Together, Potts and Hayman are parents to son Doc (born in 1992) and son Harry (born in 1996).
According to Potts in an interview with Closerweekly, she knew Hayman was the appropriate partner for her because he liked Clay Senechal, the son she has with her third husband, B. Scott Senechal.

Potts had been married three times before she met James Hayman, her current partner. On August 26, 1973, she was married for the first time to Steven Douglas Schwartz. They were married for five years before divorcing in June 1978.
On June 21, 1978, Potts wed Greg Antonacci, her second husband, not long after her first divorce. Her second marriage, however, lasted even less time than her first, and on April 5, 1979, the two got divorced.
Potts continued seeing B. Scott Senechal, and on February 28, 1981, they got married. Eight years passed during their marriage. The couple also welcomed their son, Clay Senechal, at that time. In 1989, Potts and her third husband divorced.

She continued to labor nonstop as Potts and Hayman expanded their brood. The Young Sheldon actress has appeared in more than 100 films and TV shows during her career. Even though that amount may seem high, Potts claims that if it weren’t for her sons, she would have earned even more accolades.
She added that she could balance parenting and acting because she received a lot of support from others, adding that she doesn’t regret slowing down for her family.
