This Asian salad dressing recipe is a delightful blend of Asian spices that goes great with any salad!

Asian salad dressing doesn’t get any better than this, with ginger, garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, and honey wonderfully sweetened.

Why Is This Recipe So Delicious?

  • It’s very simple and quick. From the cupboard to the table, we’re talking about less than 5 minutes.
It’s excellent on steamed vegetables, slaws, and noodles, but it’s also great on steamed vegetables, slaws, and noodles!
  • It may be used as a salad dressing as a marinade for chicken or any other protein! You may need to create a double batch of Asian salad dressing depending on the amount of protein you’re marinating. Fill a sealable plastic bag halfway with the dressing, add the raw protein, and marinate for 30 minutes at room temperature or 1-2 hours in the fridge.
  • It’s ideal for dinner preparation. Keep your Asian salad dressing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Make it ahead of time and separate it into individual servings for quick grab-and-go lunches (finally, a use for those little Tupperware containers!)

Important Ingredients

Sesame Seed Oil If you really want to amp up the flavor, use toasted sesame oil instead of regular sesame oil. It will give your dressing a nutty flavor. YUM.

Ginger – The quantity of taste you receive from fresh ginger depends on how old it is. Green ginger, or spring ginger, is milder than mature ginger. Both impart a strong, spicy, peppery flavor to your Asian salad dressing.

Honey – The honey’s sweetness counteracts the vinegar’s tanginess. Replace the honey with maple syrup for a vegan option.

Chef’s Advice

  • This dressing has a lovely texture thanks to the EVOO, but you can use any neutral oil you choose! It would be acceptable to use grapeseed oil, avocado oil, or even canola oil.
  • If you don’t have a blender, you can prepare the dressing in a bowl or a glass jar with a lid if you don’t have one.
  • Fresh ginger and garlic have a superior flavor than dried, powdered ones, but if you don’t have any, you can use them instead! We believe in making the most of what you have. If you’re using dried ingredients, you may need to change the amounts of each.
