This liquid is made by cooking animal bones, meat and connective tissue in water over a prolonged period. The time that people cook it may even be as long as 48 hours on slow flame.
The broth is savory and nutrients dense. It is slightly gelatinous and has potent substances in it that are beneficial for the body. One can consume it as a meal. Or one can have with it a side of vegetables. One can also consume this broth as a supplement for its high protein and amino acids content.

The broth is highly nutritious. It has collagen, glycine, magnesium, proline, glucosamine, potassium and glutamine. The collagen is good for tissues, joints, gut, blood sugar control, sleep and for liver health. Glycine helps to decrease the little gaps in the gut and prevents the leaky gut syndrome. Magnesium helps in the health of the nervous system and muscles. Proline is good for gut and wound healing.
Glucosamine helps to keep the joints healthy and lubricated. Potassium helps in blood pressure control. Glutamine is a fuel source for the cells of the gut and also acts as a neurotransmitter. The gelatin in these broths are good for digestion and the absorptive process of the intestines.

But in some people, even small amounts of this broth can lead to discomfort and lot of side effects especially on the gut. Additionally, it can cause glutamate sensitivity, histamine intolerance and problems due to lead and heavy metals in it.
In glutamic sensitivity, the affected person gets a dry mouth with sneezing, joint pains, muscle pains, and tummy upset. With histamine of the broth, some people develop an immediate inflammatory reaction. There is generalized body swelling, headache, stomach pain, and brain fog. And if the broth is contaminated with heavy metals such as lead, the person drinking it might get issues with it. But only one study reported this problem and it is dubious.
