Ingredients

  • 1 pound of baby carrots cut into 2 inch pieces
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • 4 tablespoons butter diced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • pinch ground black pepper

Instructions For Candied Carrots

  1. 1 cup water in a big skillet with carrots Bring water to a boil, then steam for 8 minutes, or until fork-tender but not too soft. Drain the carrots and turn the heat down to the lowest setting.
  2. Put the vegetables back in the pan. Add the butter, brown sugar, salt, and pepper and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the sugar has dissolved. Serve immediately.
