Why Is Chicken Patties Recipe So Delicious?

  • Some ground chicken dishes can be a little dry and have an unpleasant texture, but not this one! These chicken patties are wonderfully juicy, precisely seasoned, and crunchy on the outside. They’re wonderful in burgers or wraps, but they’re also delicious on their own! Serve with a small spinach salad or potatoes and a broccoli salad.
  • Switch it up! One of the best parts about this recipe is that you can change it up every time you prepare it. For cheesy chicken patties, add a little parmesan or cheddar cheese, or finely cut some jalapenos, mushrooms, spinach, or zucchini for vegetable chicken patties.
  • These are fantastic freezer meal alternatives. Mix and make the chicken patties according to the directions, then place them on a baking sheet and freeze for about an hour. After that, put them in a freezer bag and freeze them for up to three months! To keep the patties from sticking together, I like to slip a square of parchment paper between them. Then you can only take out the number of patties you require later!

Important Ingredients

Ground Chicken — For quick and easy chicken patties, use ground chicken. If you like, you can make your own. All you have to do is cut chicken breasts into large chunks and process them until ground in a food processor.

Breadcrumbs — The breadcrumbs, together with the egg, act as a binder to keep the chicken patty together. Use Italian breadcrumbs for a little more flavor!

Mayonnaise – Mayonnaise keeps the patties juicy and moist. If you don’t like mayonnaise, sour cream can be substituted. Greek yogurt would also work, although the flavor would be different!

Chef’s Advice

  • You won’t need as much time in the pan as you may imagine because chicken cooks quickly. Use an internal thermometer to determine when they’re ready to be removed from the heat.
  • Instead of pan-frying the chicken patties, you can bake them! Follow the instructions below and bake them on a baking sheet for about 20 minutes in a 400°F oven. To ensure consistent cooking, flip them halfway through. Use a meat thermometer to check the final temperature.
  • Refrigerate chicken patties for at least 30 minutes after shaping them before pan-frying them for even better results. They will hold together better if you cook them cold rather than at room temperature or heated. They’ll also be juicy and tasty.
  • Before you place the patties in the oil, make sure the skillet is hot and ready. If it isn’t, they will soak up the oil rather than pan-frying.
