Biography
Beginning a Fitness Journey
Cory Gregory wasn’t a naturally talented athlete as a child, unlike other fitness icons. He lacked the strength necessary to compete at the highest level because he was thin for his age.
He had a hard time making his basketball team as a result, and he didn’t participate in many other sports during high school.
This is when Cory decided to join a gym to improve his sporting prowess by lifting weights and maintaining the body he had in his teenage years.
Starting a Gym
Cory started working as a coal miner after finishing high school to pay for college. At the age of 20, he decided to operate a gym after ultimately enrolling at Columbus State University to pursue a degree in exercise specialist.
He was exposed to the fitness community as a result, and he continued to work on his goal of becoming an authority in the field.
Bodybuilding and Powerlifting
After growing more enthusiastic about fitness, Cory opened a gym in Ohio and developed a deep interest in powerlifting and bodybuilding competitions.
He entered more than 20 powerlifting shows and 15 natural bodybuilding contests during this time. This aided in his development as a reputable athlete in the field.
Starting a Supplements Company
Cory focused his sights on building a career in fitness after graduating from Columbus State University. He co-founded a well-known supplement firm with a friend.
One of the supplement industry’s enterprises with the fastest growth rates was Cory’s. Cory had attracted a lot of attention at this stage and had effectively turned into a fitness icon.
Training
Cory is also renowned for having a high level of motivation, rising as early as 3:30 am to start working out and accomplishing his daily objectives.
He works out in the gym twice a day, first at 5 a.m. doing weights and then at 6:30 a.m. lunging on the track.
“By 5 o’clock, I’m already in the gym, rocking and rolling till 6 or 6:15. When I’m finished there, I immediately go to the track and begin to run around it (typically 400 meters), all the while listening to music and even learning more.
Nutrition
Cory Gregory is well-known for adhering to a special “anabolic fasting” diet that involves consuming all of his calories and macronutrients during an 8-hour window before fasting the remainder of the day.
Cory Gregory only eats two meals a day—one at noon and the other at six o’clock—to do this. He does, however, allow himself the weekend to indulge in a few cheat meals and treat his children to ice cream and potato chips.
“I tried intermittent fasting, but I soon returned to my regular diet, which is very similar to the Anabolic Diet.
“So when I combined them, I started to get leaner and feel better, and then I was preparing for a shoot. Even though I had four weeks to prepare, my statistics kept rising.
What can Cory Gregory teach us?
There aren’t many people that will get up at 3 or 4 am every day and work on improving their fitness levels, but Cory is highly determined to reach his goals.
He’s shown that, with enough effort, anyone can achieve their goals.
