Why Is This Recipe So Delicious?

  • It only takes 6 ingredients and under 5 minutes to prepare! This homemade dressing is the most simple recipe you’ll prepare all week.
  • It’s extremely adaptable! Pour it over a salad, use it as a dip for fresh vegetables, or even spread it on a sandwich. This Roquefort dressing can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.
  • It’s rich and creamy, with Roquefort cheese bits flowing through it. The addition of a little cheese to this dressing gives it a great taste and an interesting texture!

Important Ingredients (Creamy, Tangy Roquefort Dressing)

Cheese Roquefort – Roquefort cheese is sharp and crumbly, and it belongs to the blue cheese family. If you can’t find Roquefort cheese, feel free to use any other blue cheese. This dressing was as delicious when made with gorgonzola cheese.

Buttermilk — This Roquefort dressing recipe gets a tangy boost from the buttermilk. You can substitute 1 cup milk with 1 tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar if you don’t have buttermilk. And if you have any leftover buttermilk, try this roasted strawberry buttermilk ice cream!

Chef’s Advice

  • Before serving, chill the Roquefort dressing for at least 2 hours. 6 hours is the right amount of time for the flavors to develop in my opinion. The longer it chills, though, the better it tastes!
  • Refrigerate any leftover dressing in an airtight jar for up to 6 months. This is the ideal make-ahead dish for months of enjoyment!
  • If you want a completely creamy dressing, pulse all of the ingredients in a food processor or blender until smooth. To avoid lumps in your dressing, you can even use the Roquefort cheese itself. I must admit, though, that finding a Roquefort cheese chunk in this dressing is absolutely amazing!
