American singer and ex-husband of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West started Donda Academy in 2022. And now two ex-teachers of this school have sued the founder, Kanye and his three directors.

American rapper, Kanye West suffers from bipolar disorder. He is the ex-husband of American socialite Kim Kardashian and father of her four children. He began a school for kids last year. It has the name of Donda Academy. It’s website states:
“Using an ethic of integrity and care, Donda Academy prepares students to become the next generation of leaders, thinkers and innovators by providing them with a world-class education that includes a rigorous core curriculum, and an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving.”

“We work to engage and educate the whole student – mind, body, and spirit.”
It is an independent private Christian school based in Simi Valley in California.
Lawsuit against Kanye’s school
Two former teachers of the school, Cecilia Hailey and her daughter, Chekarey Byers have sued Kanye and other three directors of the school. They allege that they were discriminated against and later wrongfully terminated.
The ex-teachers have added that they faced racial discrimination at the school. Moreover, they were bullied and also their wages were held back by Kanye and the other directors illegally. Furthermore, they allege that their termination came after they reported code violations. The two have demanded monetary compensation of more than $1million (£803,000) in damages.

And she also noticed lack of security measures at the school. Hence, she raised safety and health violations issues on multiple occasions. But they fell on deaf ears. And no attempts were made by management to fix the issues.
Spilling the beans
The former teachers disclosed the plight of the students studying there. These kids just had one meal a day. And this consisted of sushi. The students ate them sitting on the floor. The court documents reveal that colour was banned and students had to wear only black robes. There were no classes held on the second floor because Kanye suffers from phobia of stairs.

And even at lunch break or other recess, the kids had to stay inside. They were not allowed to go anywhere outside. The court papers also state that Kanye spent USD 10k in a week for purchase of sushi for the students. As per the website, the daily activities at this religious school consists of:
“full school worship; core classes of language arts, math and science; lunch and recess; enrichment courses including World Language, Visual Art, Film, Choir and Parkour.”
