Easy Fish Tacos are a fantastic family supper that just takes 20 minutes to prepare and serve.

White fish fillets (like tilapia or cod) are used in this recipe, which is then roasted until it is flaky and tender. For the ideal weeknight supper, top with your preferred ingredients, some fish tacos sauce, or a side of fresh mango salsa.

Easy Recipe for Fish Tacos

One of those quick dinners I don’t prepare nearly enough is fish tacos. In addition to being delicious and fresh, they only take 20 minutes to prepare from fridge to table. Win/win!!

Which fish should I use for tacos? We use tilapia for these fish tacos, but you may use any other white fish you prefer, such as cod or haddock if you don’t like it. These can truly be made with any fish, including salmon.

Tortillas can be made of corn or flour and should only be warmed moderately. The flavor of corn tortillas is my favorite.

Making Fish Tacos: A Recipe

  1. MAKE FISH Dry the fish with a paper towel before rubbing it with the easy homemade spice blend in the recipe below.
  2. Bake the fish for around 15 minutes in the oven. extremely quick
  3. PREP SUGGESTIONS Chop and prepare your favorite taco toppings during those 15 minutes. The toppings are prepared by the time the fish is finished.

Making Fish Taco Sauce

If you’d prefer a sauce, the following is one of our favorites! I frequently serve fish tacos with a traditional coleslaw or onion slaw (recipe below).

Tacos should be drizzled with the following mixture:

  • 3 teaspoons of sour cream and mayonnaise each
  • juice of one-half a fresh lime
  • a dash of cumin, a pinch of garlic powder, and roughly half a teaspoon of sriracha

These are ideal for a busy weeknight because they only require a few minutes to prepare and taste incredibly tasty and light.

Preferred toppings

  • Fresh: shredded lettuce, coleslaw, diced tomatoes, and onions (or onion slaw)
  • Avocado, guacamole, cream, and sour cream are all examples of creamy foods.
  • Fresh mango salsa, homemade pico de gallo, and other flavorful condiments

Serving suggestions for fish tacos

Fish tacos are a one-dish meal that doesn’t need any additional side dishes! I enjoy adding a ton of toppings and a few basic, fresh sides so that everyone can customize their food.

Whenever I do serve sides with fish tacos, they are often straightforward dishes like a corn salad or some delectable Spanish rice.
