It’s so easy to make this creamy baked tortellini recipe.

  1. Tortellini should be prepared as directed on the packaging. They will cook more in the oven, so don’t overcook them.
  2. Construct the cheese sauce (per the recipe below).
  3. Everything should be combined, covered with the remaining cheddar cheese, and baked uncovered.

Variations

  • Replace the ham with leftover chicken or turkey.
  • Replacing peas with leftover roasted vegetables
  • Include freshly prepared, crisp-tender steamed, or sautéed vegetables. One of my favorites is steaming broccoli!
  • Trade out the cheeses for whatever is in your fridge. Make certain that at least one of the cheeses has a strong flavor.

Shortcut: Add the cheeses after replacing the homemade sauce with jarred Alfredo sauce (you’ll need about 22 ounces or 1 1/2 (15 ounces each) jars).

Replace the ham with leftover roasted vegetables or chicken.
