Who is James Alexander Ellis?

James Alexander Ellis, a professional bodybuilder from the UK, began lifting weights at the age of 18 to improve his “pear-shaped” physique.

Short Career of James Alexander Ellis

James Alexander Ellis began exercising every morning, and it didn’t take long for his body to appear athletic with a good v-taper.

He left the weight room behind to concentrate on his studies at the university. James didn’t return to the gym, though, until he was dissatisfied with his new position as an architect after graduating from university.

He entered the stage and won his first tournament after only two years of practice. He later went on to win his Pro card with the WBFF after that. James put in a lot of effort to become the elite athlete and personal trainer he is today.

Biography

At age 18, weight training

James Alexander-Ellis, who was born in London in 1978, began working out and experimenting with weightlifting when he was 18 years old. Even with a very limited range of weights at home, I was still able to make some of my fastest gains, as James put it.

James’ weight problem was one of the things that kept him motivated. He claimed that when he was a teenager and had his shirt off, he felt uneasy.

James decided to start working out and alter his body form at this time. He quickly gained a v-taper and lost a few pounds without paying much attention to his nutrition.

James kept up his training intermittently until he was 22 years old when he took three years off to concentrate on his university studies.

But James didn’t start to take things seriously until he became 25. He decided to employ a personal trainer and would exercise first thing in the morning before going to work.

I would say that year was a major turning point for me — training properly and training early. I’ve been slowly getting better since.

Competition Background

Since beginning his fitness adventure, James has won two prestigious international championships and received a WBFF Pro card, where he finished second in the Male Muscle Model competition in Las Vegas.

He was also named “The Body of 2012” on a well-known YouTube channel in 2012. James has found this to be a humiliating experience because, just a few years ago, he was a complete beginner.

“That kind of status and recognition means a lot to me, and it motivates me every day to work harder and do more… As a result, I now receive notes from individuals all around the world telling me that I inspire them.

James has participated in multiple WBFF shows since his initial competitions, placing in the top 10 or above every year. James discovered bodybuilding to be his passion.

Achievements

James claims that his decision to leave his office job as an architect and transition into a career as a personal trainer and strength coach has been the best one he’s ever made.

“I reached a significant turning point in my life and I made a significant decision to leave the office lifestyle behind and pursue my lifelong passion for iron,” the author said.

Training

Cardio

James only uses the rowing machine or the treadmill for his off-season HIIT workouts. For around 15 minutes, these workouts will alternate between bursts of 15–30 seconds of high intensity and 30–60 seconds of low intensity.

James will combine low-intensity steady-state cardio with interval training when he needs to prepare for a competition, though.

The production of catecholamine is increased during the intervals, which mobilizes fat reserves for burning.

Muscle Development

James will use the Poliquin training program, primarily using German Body Comp for his reducing phase and German Volume Training for hypertrophy in the lead-up to his bulking phase.

James will concentrate on German Volume Training, including an Upper Lower Split 5 days a week, throughout the offseason muscle-building phase.

Nutrition

Re-feeds And Keto

James often adheres to a ketogenic diet with timed refeeds every day of the week. After his workout, he would consume high GI carbs along with his protein shake to increase insulin levels.

Then, three to five days later, he will take a day off and refeed on starches and fruits.

He will slightly increase his carbohydrate intake and slightly cut his fat as he gets closer to his competition. He is capable of doing that at this point due to his slimmer physique and enhanced ability to tolerate carbs due to his insulin sensitivity.

Influences and Idols

Flex Wheeler is one of his favorite bodybuilders of all time. He possessed what Jame thought was the ideal body for a bodybuilder.

Never seen anyone match his small joints, enormous muscles, and round delts. Still a little too gigantic for my tastes, but boy did he ever manage to keep it aesthetic.

James Alexander Ellis mentions Roger Snipes, Shaun Stafford, Bill Davey, and Frank Sepe in the modeling industry.

James Alexander Ellis lists Sean Harley, James Ellis, Ryan John-Baptist, Rob Riches, and Micah LaCerte as some of the WBFF physique contestants he most admires.

What James Alexander-Ellis can teach us?

Like most individuals, James began lifting weights at the age of 18 to build muscle and boost his self-esteem.

But James Alexander Ellis couldn’t devote himself fully to his goal of becoming a professional bodybuilder until he graduated from college. Now a well-known athlete and personal trainer, James.

If James can teach us anything, it’s to work hard, establish plans, and follow our aspirations. You can accomplish greatness if you have James’ ambition and drive.
