Biography

Childhood and college

Katie Corio, an American who was born in New Mexico, relocated to California in 2012. She enrolled in the Kinesiology program at San Diego State University in California when she was 18 years old.

It didn’t take her long to develop a fascination for the physiques on display in her new home. When Katie learned about California’s emphasis on health, she realized her diet wasn’t doing her body any good.

Beginning a Fitness Journey

Despite always being active as a child—she frequently went skiing and played volleyball—Katie developed an unhealthy lifestyle after she entered college. She put on weight quickly while in college.

By the end of 2012, Katie had grown dissatisfied with the way she looked and was determined to create a more attractive body.

She then decided to start working out seriously in the gym to become in shape. Katie started her fitness adventure at the age of 18.

First Competition

By 2015, when Katie was 21 years old, she had a fantastic body. She had been dieting and exercising for two years and was pleased with her results.

The gym had become Katie’s new favorite place. She decided to compete after becoming a fan of bikini athletes on social media and appreciating their physiques.

After months of training, Katie competed in her first show that year—the 2015 NPC Ferrigno Legacy.

She placed first, and impressively, she was able to walk away with the trophy.

Attempting to Get a Pro Card

Katie Corio was more determined than ever to establish herself after winning her first contest. She began concentrating on obtaining her Pro Card.

Her place in the 2016 NPC Junior Nationals was guaranteed by her victory in the Ferrigno Legacy. But in a hotly contested Bikini division, she came in 16th.

Personal Training with Social Media Star
