Who Is Kristi Eramo?

American CrossFit competitor Kristi Eramo represents the sport. Kristi turned to CrossFit in 2014 after spending most of her adolescent years and early twenties as a professional swimmer and endurance athlete. She saw it as the “next great challenge” in her life.

Short Career of Kristi Eramo

In 2014, Kristi Eramo competed at a regional level for the first time, finishing 16th overall. Following her debut, she finished 10th in the regional tournament the following year.

She finished fifth at the 2016 regionals, earning a spot in the CrossFit Games, the pinnacle of the sport.

Kristi’s eighth-place finish at the 2016 Games, in which she made her debut, was the best of any female rookie that year.

Since then, she has set several personal records in weightlifting, qualified as a CrossFit trainer in Kentucky, and begun talking about her love of the sport online with her friends, family, and followers.

She introduced Donna, her mother, to Crossfit, and Donna began competing. Donna finished 10th in the Master’s Women Division of the 2016 Reebok Games.

“It is amazing to think back on my CrossFit journey and for me to realize how far I’ve come!”

Training

Increasing Stamina and Strength

Each of Kristi’s six weekly training sessions lasts one to three hours. She doesn’t require regular cardio workouts because of the intensity and duration of her workouts.

Kristi Eramo uses a structured training program as a CrossFit athlete to build strength and endurance. This program “packs on” a lot of muscle despite not being specially designed to promote hypertrophy (muscle growth) because of its intensity.

Thanks to these regimens, she was able to set some incredible personal records, including her 300-pound squat, 335-pound deadlift, and 225-pound clean and jerk.

Kristi’s Schedule

These are Kristi’s two training versions, one for strength and one for endurance.

“Nutrition is a huge part to performance and recovery.”

Nutrition

Kristi eats raw foods, drinks only water or tea, and prepares most of her meals. This basic diet is based on a few key concepts.

Even Kristi Eramo will occasionally breach some of the rules, though. She claims that this is a reality of life and that finding balance is essential to both long-term growth and contentment. It’s never a good idea to adhere to severe diets, as Kristi advises. They might help you advance, but they won’t bring you lasting fulfillment.

She takes BCAAs for accelerated muscle repair, green tea extract, magnesium, and D3 if she doesn’t receive enough sunlight.

Fasting

Kristi Eramo will go without food for one or two days each month when she isn’t competing and doesn’t require extra strength. She only drinks water.

She thinks that doing this gives the liver and the other organs a break from eating constantly and gets rid of any toxins that may have been collected over months of dieting, stress, and competition.
