Biography

Earlier Years

In Weymouth, Massachusetts, on January 31, 1945, Len was born. He first became interested in bodybuilding when he was a young adolescent.

Len Archambault frequently perused magazine covers, which sparked a passionate desire to imitate the bodybuilding legends of yesteryear.

Lenny didn’t take long to start putting on an outstanding physique. At this point, he began to consider competing in bodybuilding contests.

At the age of 30, he competed in his first professional show, the 1975 IFBB Mr. USA, and finished a respectable third.

The American won his first show that year. He won first place in the medium and overall categories of the 1975 IFBB Mr. East Coast competition, finishing fifth overall. Mr. America, IFBB.

Len Archambault proceeded to achieve solid results over the following two years, finishing fifth in the 1976 and 1977 AAU Mr. Florida competitions.

Lenny Jr. also succeeded in finishing fourth in the 1977 editions of Mr. America and Mr. USA.

He decided to invest more time and effort into his preparations after winning these spectacular titles, and eventually, he was able to take first place at the 1978 IFBB Mr. USA, becoming the first person to win the renowned competition.

Apart from his idols Frank Zane and Arnold Schwarzenegger, there weren’t many well-known bodybuilders during the “Golden era” of bodybuilding. Lenny began to have a reputation as one of the best athletes in this period.

Future Contests

Len’s objective for the following two years was to take home the IFBB Mr. International crown. Lenny was unhappy that he finished third overall in 1979, but he was resolved to concentrate on winning the following year.

Lenny’s desire of winning the IFBB Mr. International title came true in 1980 when, to his surprise, he won first place in the overall category.

The American attempted to defend the championship the next year but was unsuccessful, finishing seventh.

When he recognized it was time to retire, he entered one more competition, the 1981 IFBB Grand Prix New England, where he placed 13th, before leaving the stage.

Personal training’s Resurrection

Len Archambault worked as a personal trainer on the side while he was competing, and once those days were gone, he decided to devote more time to making his passion for assisting people a way of life.

Len’s interest in personal training first started simply, but with time it developed into a successful business.

Lenny Jr. decided to give bodybuilding one more shot after taking a break from it for a while.

At the age of 44, he came out of retirement to compete in the 1990 ABA-USA Nationals Masters Division, where he unexpectedly took first place.

Lenny’s career as a professional bodybuilder came to an end in 1990, satisfied with the impressive victory.

Existence Besides Bodybuilding

Len Archambault participated in rodeos and horseback riding when he was younger and loved playing various sports with his pals. Lenny was regarded as a skilled artist and appeared as an actor in several well-known films.

Death

On October 18, 2015, Lenny H. Archambault Jr. passed away, leaving behind his wife Robin and two children, Danielle and Nathan.

The American bodybuilding legend also had a lasting influence on others who changed their bodies and lives as a result of Lenny’s inspiration.
