Biography

Nutritional and Early Childhood Specialist

Milos Sarcev, who was raised in Beej, Serbia, has always loved physical activity. In high school, he participated in swimming, basketball, soccer, karate, judo, and aikido.

He first began weight lifting in the gym as a result of these sports, purely to increase his strength and his athletic prowess.

Milos was inspired to learn about the science of bodybuilding by his newfound interest in the sector. The Mind enrolled in Prehrambena Tehnologija at the University of Novi Sad to pursue a career as a nutritional specialist.

Later in life, he would find this education to be priceless.

Inaugural Competition

Milos was eager to put what he had learned into practice after graduating from college, so he started experimenting with various training regimens to maximize muscle growth and fat loss.

The Serbian was on his way to developing one of the greatest physiques in the world by the time he was 24 years old, in 1988. At this point, he relocated to America to pursue his Pro Card goal.

The 1988 AAU Mr. Universe in the Light-Heavyweight division served as The Mind’s debut contest. Even though he didn’t win, he finished in a very respectable third position, gaining exposure and experience in the field.

Acquiring His Pro Card

After his first performance, Milos intensified his workouts in the gym, working hard to develop the body of his dreams.

He bounced back well the following year, winning the 1989 WPF Mr. Universe in the same division as his debut.

In addition to winning the prize, Milos also achieved his goal of becoming a professional bodybuilder by obtaining his Pro Card.

A Professional Bodybuilder’s Life

In his debut professional match, The Mind finished fourth at the Niagara Falls Pro Invitational in 1991. Milos Sarcev appeared in more than 50 events throughout the following 8 years, acquiring additional notoriety for his dedication.

By 2003, when he was 39 years old, the Serbian had earned the status of sports legend. He started coaching athletes nevertheless because he wanted to give back to the game.

Getting a Pro Coaching Job

Milos rose to become one of the best trainers in the world after he stopped competing. Flex Wheeler, Bob Paris, and Lee Labrada were among those he trained, helping them to achieve great success.

The World Record Project

When he was identified as a member of “Project World Mark,” the group that assisted Tim Montgomery in breaking the 100-meter world record using performance-enhancing chemicals, Milos received even greater publicity in 2001.

Training

Giant sets are something that Milos strongly supports because, in his opinion, they maximize muscle stimulation.

12-Week Workout Plan

Milos’ giant set routine would look like this:

Weeks 1 through 4:

  • 5 rotations for each muscle group with 4 exercises per rotation
  • In each rotation include one heavy-duty exercise with maximal load

Weeks 5 through 8:

  • 4 rotations for each muscle group with 6 exercises per rotation
  • In each rotation include two heavy-duty exercises with maximal load and make the last exercise have a heavy isometric contraction only

Weeks 9 through 12:

  • 5 rotations for each muscle group with 6-8 exercises per rotation
  • Each rotation includes two heavy-duty exercises with maximal load and one super heavy eccentrics only

Nutrition

Hyperemia Benefit

Milos contends that success in the gym depends on his “Hyperemia Advantage” idea. According to Milos, a gym session results in a 60% increase in blood flow:

“So, here is the justification behind it. Women have about 4L of blood and men have about 5L of blood, both of which are constantly moving throughout the body.

A maximum of 10–12% of the blood enters our skeletal muscles while we are at rest because there isn’t much of a physiological need during a period of low physical activity.

However, blood is sent to our active muscles as we move about. and during weight training, hyperemia—increased blood flow to working muscles—can attain an astounding 60% increase in blood flow or more. This only occurs during a workout!

Anabolic Substances

The Mind continues by explaining how insulin and anabolic substances can help the body build more muscle by being delivered into the bloodstream and maintained throughout a workout:

According to what my father advised if I deliver all the required anabolic nutrients in a pre-digested form (such as ATP, glucose, amino acids, etc.)

into the bloodstream right before training and then continue to deliver more of the same nutrients during my training session while raising the most anabolic hormone in our body — insulin — I will create an immediate and maximal anabolic environment.

Thus, rather than nutrient loss (protein degradation or catabolism), we are increasing nutrient uptake by our muscle cells (protein synthesis or anabolism) and inhibiting anti-catabolism at the same time.

This is everything we need to achieve the maximum outcomes we need.

Because there won’t be as much blood in the muscle before or after exercising, we must keep in mind that we only have this opportunity then.

Influences and Idols

Milos has been influenced by a variety of people during his career, but he lists Steeve Reeves, Frank Zane, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as his three key role models.

Slobodan Bobo Blagojevic, a fellow countryman, is likewise greatly admired by the Serbians.
