Ingredients
- 1 pound of ground beef
- ½ onion finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
sloppy joe sauce
- ½ cup water
- ½ green bell pepper finely died
- ½ cup tomato sauce
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
Instructions for Sloppy Joe
- A big skillet is warmed up over medium-high heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ground beef while breaking it up with a wooden spoon. until no longer pink, cook. Remove any fat.
- Bring the sauce to a boil while stirring in the other ingredients. Lower the heat, cover the pot, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the sauce is thick.
- Heat the oven to broil while the sauce is boiling. Place the hamburger buns on a baking pan after brushing the insides with butter or oil. 1–3 minutes under the broiler, or until barely browned.
- Serve the meat mixture with the toasted buns.

It’s simple to duplicate or quadruple this sloppy joe recipe. In a crockpot, keep the stew heated until serving time.
