It seems like Nick Gehlfuss has always existed. He has a devoted fan base thanks to his role as Dr. Will Halstead on Chicago Med since 2015.
These admirers are constantly hunting for more details regarding his private life. However, Nick Gehlfuss is infamous for withholding a lot of information about it. Most of his Instagram posts are about his job.
However, Lilian Matsuda, his wife, is more candid than her husband about a few specific aspects of their family life.
New Parents: Lilian Matsuda and Nick Gehlfuss
Gehlfuss and Matsuda do share some details of their family life online, despite being circumspect in what they post online. It can be seen from her Instagram that the couple just became parents of a child who was born in late 2021.
Matsuda made her pregnancy initially known on April 14, 2021. She posted a mirror selfie on Instagram to display her already noticeable baby bulge.
After that, in June, they went to a live performance of the Colombus Symphony, which she shared on social media as a tribute to their impending baby at the time.
She turned to her kid, whom she called Bebe, and said, “Hope you enjoyed your first live concert.” We’re not sure if the name the parents chose was the baby’s actual name or just a moniker.
Midway through December, their infant arrived. She posted a homage to her mother on Facebook on December 14, 2021, saying, “I think my baby would laugh when you laugh.”
She added, “I love you,” at the end of the post, vowing to be “as patient a mother as you were with me.”
It seems that the couple’s ability to finally have some alone time began just in January. Matsuda referred to it as a “Parents’ night out” in her post on January 25, 2022.
Since that time, Gehlfuss and Matsuda have frequently shared the red carpet.
Secret Big Wedding of Nick
Nobody in the media was informed about Gehlfuss and Matsuda’s 2016 nuptials. Then, a few days after his wedding, he unexpectedly revealed the wonderful news to everyone.
The pair wed on May 13, 2016, but didn’t release wedding photos until May 15, two days later. He added a lovely bit of D to the caption of one of his photos. The writings of H. Lawrence.
Then, on May 17, he revealed the information to People magazine when discussing his upcoming nuptials and vacation.
He recalled his plans for the important day: “I intended to invite a lot of my cast mates, but because we’re a franchise, I would have had to invite the entire Chicago franchise.” A “grand wedding in Ohio” was held for the couple on Friday the 13th.
He had spent a portion of their vacation in New York promoting Chicago Med.
For the rest, Gehlfuss and Matsuda intended to travel to Japan, a country she is familiar with because her mother is part Japanese.
At the time of the wedding, Matsuda was free. From June 2014 to August 2015, she was employed at the Viceroy Hotel Group in Los Angeles, California.
As of December 2021, she has been the Director of Advocacy at the Illinois Action for Children, where she currently works.
