Biography

Tavi, a Canadian native with Spanish ancestry, has always been interested in physical fitness. He spent the majority of his youth playing football and exercising in the gym.

European Football Players

He left his native Canada when he was 15 to play for many junior academies in Europe. He was an excellent soccer player. Tavi had a clear path to a career in professional football after being selected for the Canadian Youth National team.

Tavi enjoyed his time as a sponsored youth soccer player, playing in nations like England and the Netherlands until he decided to leave it all behind at the age of 19.

To secure a secure future for himself, he decided that it was time to begin his studies.

Tavi attended college to pursue aerospace engineering, but his true calling eventually won out. He grew so preoccupied with exercising and improving in the gym that it dominated everything else in his life.

To fund his supplements, he would forgo paying for train fares or whatever else he could. Tavi would do everything in his power to keep working out and advance.

Competition In The Musclemania

Tavi began to feel as though something was lacking in his life despite being accustomed to a competitive environment.

He learned about Musclemania’s natural bodybuilding competitions at this time. Tavi remarked, “I knew it was time to accomplish something that would be thought of as impossible,” at this point.

He worked in nightclubs every weekend in addition to his 10-hour study days from Monday through Friday, which made him reevaluate his entire strategy to make sure he covered all the bases. He had to be well-prepared and methodical.

Without any hesitation, “I knew I wanted to be a fitness model and natural bodybuilder.”

His enthusiasm was unwavering, and his goals were lofty, but something—his ego—began to get in the way. Like most beginners in the gym, Tavi says, “I let my ego get the best of me and was sacrificing technique and efficiency for too much weight.”

Fortunately, studying aerospace engineering gave him the skills necessary to complete his homework even when something wasn’t working.

He eventually found what he was looking for after delving deep into literature, searching online, and gathering all the information he could.

Confusion Over Consistency

Despite having the physique of a superhuman athlete, Tavi is not above making errors. Consistency is among the most important lessons he has had to master.

By ensuring that everything was presented to him in the simplest manner possible, she ensured that he could accomplish his objectives.

He is sometimes questioned about why he trains at such a low-cost facility, to which he replies, “Simple, it’s close to home.” Cooking is another thing.

People would enquire, “How do you prep food fully day first thing in the morning?” due to his 10-hour study days. “I didn’t,” Tavi replies, “I left protein, oats, bread, peanut butter, and other items in a locker at school. You can do everything you set your mind to.

Favorite Moment

Tavi’s greatest accomplishment to date was winning the junior bodybuilding division and placing second in the fitness modeling division at the 2012 Musclemania Britain.

Since this was his first competition, it was an enormous honor for him to enter and blow many of the others out of the water. Tavi discusses his proudest moment here;

“I had never performed in a show before, so it was an absolute honor to enter, win the bodybuilding category, and then finish second to the great Ben ‘the blueprint’ Noy. Training

Tavi is a great believer in the benefits of using free weights to develop godly, sturdy muscles. He claims that this is the area where muscles are stimulated the most.

He frequently emphasizes the value of performing exercises that isolate the supporting muscle.

According to Tavis, this is being done to reduce the chance of damage due to muscular imbalances. “Your weakest link determines how strong you are.”

“Whenever I do any low rep heavy lifting, I always use free weights before switching to high rep drop sets using machines.

When it’s time to shock any muscle group with severe, high-rep drop sets or deplete glycogen for contest preparation, machines are crucial for me.

In essence, I work out the same muscle parts twice a week, dividing them into thickness and width. I credit this training program for my symmetry.

HIIT

Many fitness athletes have their methods for losing weight in preparation for competitions. Some prefer steady-state cardio on the treadmill or cross trainer.

While some choose to use HIIT circuits or spin cycles. Tavi enjoys sprinting since, in his opinion, it produces the best outcomes.

“HIIT is the only exercise that efficiently and quickly prepares me for a picture shoot while sparing muscle mass. The comparison between a sprinter’s appearance and that of a marathon runner is accurate.

Nutrition

Tavi would extend his low-carb eating to maximize the benefits while he was preparing ready for competitions or picture assignments.

His usual diet consisted of a 4-day cycle of carbohydrate intake (250 g, 150 g, 100 g, and 50 g). To obtain the best results, he occasionally added an extra day or two of low carbs at 50g per day.

Here’s Tavi talking about his ratio of low-carb days and extra cardio; 

Accordingly, the split would be 250gr, 150gr, 100gr, 50gr, and 50gr. Depending on how quickly I need to be prepared, I then add more cardio workouts.

Brown rice, yams, and oatmeal serve as the main sources of carbohydrates, which are now solely low glycemic. Up until the final few days, protein sources remain constant, and sodium intake must be controlled.

Tavi’s history in soccer kept him from appearing trim for the majority of his professional career; yet, after he began lifting heavy weights, he was able to maintain an 8% body fat level at his best.

He is a firm believer in clean bulking after gaining 8kg of lean muscle throughout his bulking phase with the help of sound training and appropriate nutrition.

I had the pleasure of meeting Phil Heath, and as he was talking to me, I kept attempting to take off my 3D spectacles, which were not on my face.

Influences and Idols

Years of intense study of numerous books by Arnold, Frank Zane, and other authors generated in him a strong desire to pursue a career as a professional bodybuilder.

Like a proper engineer, I combined all the tools and techniques into my approach and process, as Tavi puts it.

Phil Heath, who he had the pleasure of meeting in person, is another inspiration and influence. The actor’s Roger Snipes and Ulysses Jr. are also big influences on Tavi.

He was fortunate to hear encouraging words from these legendary figures. After he won his first tournament, they encouraged him and encouraged him to emulate his role models.

My favorite fitness models are Ben Noy and Greg Plitt, who has an incredible capacity for inspiration (the great guy with unbelievable condition).

Greg Plitt and Ben Noy are without a doubt Tavi’s two all-time favorite fitness models.

How can Tavi Castro teach us something?

Travi adheres to three basic principles that she shares with those who want to improve their lives. These guidelines are:

  2. “How often have you passed an exam without studying? Do your research, learn how your body works, if you leave nothing to chance, success is inevitable.”
