Kate Middleton took to the Louise Parker method to lose weight in a healthy way after the birth of her kids. What is this method?
Louise Parker method
Louise Parker method is a way to lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way. Kate Middleton, the future queen of England had resorted to this diet in order to lose weight healthily after she gave birth to her three kids. She is fit and slim now. Hence this diet is also called the Kate Middleton diet.
In this diet, emphasis is on eating balanced and wholesome meals and doing some small lifestyle changes. The name of the diet comes from its creator, Louise Parker. She is a famous sustainable weight loss expert popular with celebrities.
This diet is not just a quick fix for weight loss. It is more of a way of life. It particularly helps people who diet with no appreciable weight loss. There is no crash diet or restrictions in this diet plan. Louise has written in her book The Louise Parker Method: Lean For Life:
“I loathe dieting. I’m actually on a mission to end it.”
Emma Thompson is also a fan of this diet. She said:
“I love that her method is NOT a diet – and is genuinely sustainable – so I can have my glass of wine and manage to avoid spending the rest of the week eating cheesy Wotsits.”
The four pillars
It has four pillars, namely, thinking successfully, living well, eating well and exercising intelligently. In thinking successfully, one has to be positive. One has to visualize the set weight loss goal and aim to achieve it. In living well, one has to do small lifestyle tweaks and also concentrate on self care. Adequate sleep and digital detoxification are a must. This also includes decluttering the surrounding areas in order to elevate mood.
And in eating well, the person should have three well-balanced meals in a day and not more than 2 snacks per day. In exercising intelligently, one has to aim to be motivated to exercise and do it as much as possible.
In this diet no food is beyond bounds. One can ear everything in limitation and also enjoy treats.
Method and verdict
Firstly there is a transformation stage. In this, you start adopting healthy habits. This includes ensuring that each meal has sufficient protein, healthy fats and carbs of low glycemic index. One should have plenty of fruits and veggies. Along with diet, exercise is equally important. One should do strength training and 15 minute workout. Also, walk 1000 steps per day.
Additionally, one should do digital detox and have brain naps. This is a sustainable, holistic and healthy way to lose weight. Nutritionist Tanya Borowski opines:
“Long-term calorie restriction is perceived as a stressor to the brain,”
She adds that a hidden inflammatory process can prevent weight loss. Nutrition deficiency, chronic infection or stress can cause it. This can cause weight gain especially around the tummy. It negatively affects hormone leptin too. And thus, there is weight gain. Praising the diet, she says:
“It’s a very balanced approach, not the slightest bit faddish.”
